Ed Tiedge – Moves To Ve De Di Distillery

Ed Tiedge builds on his 16 years in the world of distilling and alcohol by moving on to a new position as Master Distiller at Ve De Di Distillery in Hanoi, Vietnam. Ed actually moved out to Vietnam in November 2023, but only decided to announce it to the world in July 2024. We’re not sure of the logic there, but hey, it is what it is right?

Ed Tiedge has had something of an interesting career. Despite looking like a former doorman at a dodgy looking club in some badly lit subdistrict of New York, Ed actually started his career as a bit of a baller in the financial services industry, clocking in time with ABP Investments, Merrill Lynch and Sailfish Capital Partners.

6 years into a life with spreadsheets and Power Plonk slide decks, he threw it all in the air and decided to become a booze fiend. While his first adventure was an epic failure, he picked himself up and served 7 years in Belize – not in jail – at a rum distillery.

He’s now out in Vietnam alongside Quan Nguyen and Michael Rosen, the notorious White Dinosaur of Hanoi.

Consider me as waving the flag of realism in a world that is currently be turned on its head by political correctness and other nonsense. I identify as a human, and while at risk of being trolled as transphobic, my gender is female. My pronouns are whatever YOU would like to use to address me. However, a polite approach is more likely to get a reply than a rude one. "Manners maketh man.", and I don't get upset by that apparent gender bias. Manners maketh everyone else too.
